外出购物，口渴了，要不要来点水喝？顺便学学关于水的地道英文表达法，一举多得哦！
1. I need to take some water.
我需要喝点水。
喝水要怎么讲？通常我们会很直觉地想到 “I need to drink some water.”。所以像饮用水就叫 drinking water。其实老美们也常用 “I want to take some water.”。 所以喝水不一定要用 drink water，用 take water 也可以。
另外有个词跟喝水有关也值得一学，就是饮水机（drinking fountain）。但是记得，有时候 drinking fountain 也可以指速食店的那种汽水机，所以使用上要多加小心。
2. Is this tap water? No. It's bottled water.
这是自来水吗？不，这是瓶装水。
自来水的英文就是 tap water 或是 running water，而一般瓶装的水则叫 bottled water。
当然还有矿泉水（mineral water）。
3. Can I get you something to drink?
您要喝点什么吗？
吃饭的时候是不是想喝点饮料？在一般的快餐店提到的drink 都是指soft drink 而言，coke,tea,Sprite 和lemonade（柠檬水）都是软饮料。但是一般人说到he a drink 时，他们多半指的是alcoholic，也就是含酒精的饮料。所以如果有人问你，“e on, he a drink with us.” 他绝不是要你跟他们一起喝可乐的意思，而是要你跟他们一起喝酒啦!
4. I am running the bath water.
我正在放洗澡水。
中文的“放洗澡水”在英文里成了 run the bath water 或是 fill the tub。这个 tub 就是指洗澡用的大浴缸。的确差蛮多的吧！这句话如果你妄想照字面直接把中文翻成英文肯定是要失败的。
